Wallpapers in your kitchen might sound odd at first, but it should actually be the opposite. You might think that wallpapers in the kitchen won’t last long due to the amount of moisture, heat, and other shenanigans that happen in the kitchen. But it all depends on how well they're installed and the type of wallpaper you have installed. Waterproof and washable wallpapers are the best choice, and contrary to popular belief, work well and last you a long time. The best thing about opting for wallpapers is that you get to choose from such a wide variety of prints, patterns and colours; there is something for everyone, and we're big on personalising spaces. If you have an open kitchen, you have all the more reason to go for wallpapers and treat your walls are spaces for art. And with that, is some inspiration for your next kitchen wallpaper design!
7 Kitchen Wallpaper Designs To Transform Your Kitchen In An Instant
Black And White Wallpaper
When you choose a black and white wallpaper, you can either go for a striking design with full contrast or something more subtler like this one. We think a subtle wallpaper is great if you want something going on in the background but not so much to make it distracting. It's also great for people who like to like minimal modern designs.
Geometric Wallpaper
I love this design from @stevenrhammel’s house. It's a simple kitchen wallpaper design, somewhat like bricks but much more vibrant and cleaner. This is a very clever way of using wallpaper only on half of your wall and then blocking it with a similar coloured shelf, giving it a very designer look.
Floral Wallpaper
For a cottagecore look, go with floral prints in muted deep colours with wooden shelving like this one done by @melaniejadedesign. The cabinets are a solid deep teal colour and the hardware a beautiful gold, which matches really well with the maximal floral print. In this kitchen wallpaper design your wallpaper does the talking, so it's suggested to keep the rest plain and simple.
Half Tile Half Wallpaper
Those who think that having tile is a better long-term solution for your kitchen backsplash but don’t want to lose out on the options of wallpapers, can opt for half tiles and half wallpapers. Apart from functionality, this also offers an interesting variety of textures to your kitchen. I'm mesmerised by how @divinesavages has managed to bring this to life, using pink as the common base colour.

Fruit Wallpaper
One of the more fun ways to add wallpaper to your kitchen would be to go with a fruit print wallpaper. We really like the pop of yellow that this lemon wallpaper brings to this kitchen, done by @rockettstgeorge. What I found interesting was the choice of wall, they've used a transition side wall that wouldn’t get as affected by cooking but will be looked at a lot because it's the passage to go into the dining area.
Add A Pop Of Green
When in doubt, green should be the choice. This kitchen wallpaper idea is simple because of the beige background colour with a minimal foliage pattern. There's not enough negative space to not make the space feel cluttered but enough going on to make it not look boring. I'd say it's an excellent choice by @emmasherlockltd.
Striped Wallpaper
I've always been a fan of striped patterns because of their clean, crisp lines and repetitive nature that look really put together. This design, done by @nicolahardingandco, is simple and can be personalised according to your favourite colour and personal style.
