Things To Do

Leopard Safari

Jawai Leopard Safari

Jawai is a top destination for spotting leopards in the world. This activity has become a primary attraction, intriguing and inviting visitors from all across the world. The forest seems to house more than sixty leopards and their cubs, with at least two safari rides taking place each day—one early morning and one in the evening. Many years ago, lava formed the hills around Jawai, which also resulted in big caves that are now home to these leopards. To increase your chances of spotting the big cat, we recommend going from September to June.

You will also meet the Rabari here, a traditional community of herdsmen who are the true guards of these leopards. They wear red turbans and walk with long sticks, and interactions with them will give you the most nuanced insight into the place's history and landscape.
