One of the main things most of us miss after returning home from a vacation (after the peace and quiet of course), is the food, especially if you've explored a destination that has amazing food to offer. Banh Mi Babe, Hyderabad's latest cloud kitchen was set up when the founder began to crave wholesome Vietnamese food after her extensive travels to the country.
Banh Mi Babe started off as a way to offer authentic Vietnamese cuisine to Hyderabadis, especially the popular street food. The Banh Mis are made to taste as close as possible to the real deal you'd find on the streets of Hanoi, with a few changes made to suit the Indian palate. The spices, for example, are slightly higher than authentic Vietnamese fare. They also offer paneer and tofu variants for the vegetarian folks.
Each Banh Mi is made with a house-made mayonnaise, meats that have been marinated for at least 4-5 hours, pickled veggies and herbs. We ordered in their pork and chicken Banh Mis over the weekend, and loved the simple, yet bold flavours in both the variants. You can also find different variants of Banh Mi on the menu, including northern Vietnamese style ones with roasted meat, and southern style ones that have cold cuts, salami and sliced, pre-cooked meats in them.
The cloud kitchen takes orders on a made-to-order, small batch basis, where the marinades change every week. Orders are taken every Wednesday, and delivered either on a Friday or Saturday, based on your preference. While currently offering a host of Banh Mis on the menu, the team also aims to offer other authentic Vietnamese dishes including Phos, rice paper rolls and other fresh food Vietnam is popularly known for. We'd totally recommend ordering yourself a couple of their Banh Mis, if you love exploring new cultures through food.
