The land of biryani is also home to healthy eating. Don't believe us? Allow us to elaborate. With new-age cafes serving up delicious Buddha bowls and farm-fresh greens, eating healthy in Hyderabad doesn't seem like a criminal act anymore. We're loving that some cafes are following sustainability and farm-to-table concepts too that are making us not just eat healthy, but also be more conscious towards the Earth.

On that note, here is a list of the best healthy cafes in Hyderabad.

Sante Spa Cuisine

Sante Spa Cuisine in Jubilee Hills is where we don't mind going for all the meals in a day. Known for its quaint (and green) outdoor seating and Instagram-worthy dishes — the healthy food here is light, experimental, and incredibly delicious. Although the cafe takes its own sweet time to serve up, it's fully worth it. The menu is quite large and they hand out different menus for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. In all honesty, if we're craving pizza but watching our weight, this is where we order in from. Plus, their desserts and drinks are too good to be true. Valrhona Chocolate Pie or Wasabi Ice-cream, anyone?

Must try: Thai Spiced Fish Cakes, Roasted Broccoli Steak (served with potato foam), Pizza Capri, Piri Piri Crusted Fish Steak

Sacred Earth Cafe

Everything about Sacred Earth Cafe in Kavuri Hills reminds us of Goa. Perfect for grabbing a meal with your squad, the entire cafe is done up in earthy colours and Bohemian decor accents. Packed with proteins, fresh vegetables, nutrients, and even fruits — Sacred Earth's dishes are super Instagram-worthy too. When you're here, you cannot miss out on their 100 percent plant-based acai bowls like OG Acai and Treehugger Acai.

Must try: OG Acai, Mushroom Avocado Toast, Gunpowder Fish Cakes, Chocolate Orange Torte

Orka Cafe

Hammocks in the garden, seating area holed into the walls, and a huge variety of desserts — Orka Cafe on Road No. 45, Jubilee Hills is truly something. Easily one of the best garden cafes in Hyderabad, this cafe makes healthy versions of all our favourite dishes. For instance, biryani and meaty starters, but with a healthy twist. Their Brown Rice Chicken Biryani and Royala Veppudu are classics, and if you love ending your meal with a dessert (and who doesn't?), go for their Pinacolada Tart and Vegan Kiwi Avocado Pie.

Must try: Barley Mushroom Soup, Oat Cocoa Waffles, Paya Shorba With Sheermal, Dim Sum In Steam Bath

Sage Farm Cafe

Sage Farm Cafe is the first cafe to introduce the concept of farm-to-table meals in Hyderabad. Known for its fresh, healthy, and protein-rich food, ingredients for all the meals are carefully harvested and handpicked from their farms. This cafe reminds you of quaint and quiet cafes in Goa and it houses an in-house organic store — Sage Organics. From pizzas and salads to rice bowls and soups, Sage whips awesome. What we love about their dishes is the fusion of east meets west flavours, and ones that you cannot quite find anywhere else in the city.

Must try: Ridge Gourd & Chilli Pizza, Protein Punch Salad, Vegetable Burger, Papdi & Vankai Chaat

Paaka

Located in Tellapur, Paaka is an organic cafe and cultural space. Home to a great space that's always bustling with activities and workshops, a drive to this cafe is so worth it. They host storytelling sessions and bonfire nights where you can interact with like-minded folks and artists from across Hyderabad. What do we love about this place? They've got a rotating menu so there is a good chance of finding something new whenever you visit. Plus, they make use of lots of millets and farm-fresh veggies. The seating is done with up with a few tables and chairs and with mattresses on the floor. Do note that the cafe cooks in small batches to avoid any food wastage, so if you're visiting with a large group, let them know in advance.

Must try: Buckwheat Banana Pancakes, Horse Gram Soup, Spinach Omelette, Millets Phirni

Klimom Farm Cafe

We love Klimom Farm Cafe because of two reasons: it overlooks the KBR Park and offers great solitude for working. Done up in earthy colours, this cafe makes its dishes fresh, and they produce their own dairy products. They make use of a whole lot of nuts, millets, eggs, and veggies in their dishes. Apart from salads and mains, they also craft their own detox drinks that are full of nutrients and antioxidants. Also, the cafe has an in-house store that sells millets, dairy products, and dessert of the day.

Must try: Sprouty Protein Bowl, Millet Thupka, Veg Kheema Pizza

Mahamudra

Isha Life by Sadhguru in Jubilee Hills has a restaurant — Mahamudra that serves Sattvic food. The rustic ambience of the cafe reminded us of our grandpa's home. And the decor accents like copper pots, hand-painted motifs on the wall come together to offer a pleasant experience. The courtyard has elegant seating done up in white and you can grab your meal right under a towering tree. The food is tossed with lots of millets, veggies, and we like that it's not spicy at all. Mostly South-Indian, all the dishes are served on copper plates. There's also a store in the same complex and if you'd like to pick handmade soaps, kurtas, and decor accents, you can check it out too.

Must try: Kollu Soup, Ragi Kanji, Malli Poo Idli, Bisi Bele Godhi
