What Makes It Awesome

They say it's impossible to feel alone in a room full of good books, and if you reading played a big role in your childhood, you'd agree with that. Sadly, we are falling back on this habit and this NGO is adamant to do something about it. Food 4 Thought is an initiative started in 2015 which aims to make books accessible to remote parts of the country and take people on an adventure through words.

How do they do this? They source fiction, non-fiction, dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc from various institutions and corporations to create a gigantic inventory and receive inquiries to build community libraries. Since inception, they've built 135 libraries across cities which is unbelievable in this age of technology.

Recently, they also built a community library in a hospital with a thought to distract the mind of the concerned and worries well-wishers. Are you a voracious reader yourself who wants to spread the habit? You too can donate books and volunteer to create awareness.

If you're like us and can't stand the thought of your book not being in safe hands, these folks will add a barcode which will allow you to track it through their app. Yup, you can totally be that concerned parent who will always know the whereabouts of their book-baby.

Psst, they also have an online store where you can Shop 4 Cause. Be it a birthday gift or a corporate gift, they've got eco-friendly bookmarks, laptop bags, diaries, wallets, and frames. 40 per cent of what you pay will go towards building libraries, so if not for a need, do it to fund this initiative.
