Shilparamam is an arts & crafts village where craftsmen and artisans from all over India exhibit their work. The work here includes items like handmade jewellery, pottery, handcrafted wooden, metal wares, paintings, handlooms footwear etc. This place is one among the many tourist attractions of Hyderabad.
This is a perfect place for street shopping. you will find a number of shops selling clothing item and accessories at dirt cheap prices. From pretty dresses, skirts, and tops, to good embroidered handbags, clutches for party wear, bag packs, and sling bags, you'll find everything here. Coming to jewellery, there are many stalls selling gorgeous silver and terracotta jewellery here. This place is a good collection of ethics too, I personally like the kalamkari products as well. You will also find Gujarati and Rajasthani embroidery lehengas here. Bonus tip: Bargaining is the key.
Despite shopping, this place has a Crafts Museum, Cultural Museum, Art Gallery & Library, Multi-Purpose Auditorium, Common Facility Workshops and Research & Design Centre along with accommodation facilities for artists and visitors. This is an ideal place to spend an evening too as they have a special night Bazar. You can also make use of the facility of battery operated car which takes you for an enchanting tour of Shilparamam at a minimal charge.
And, if you feel a little hungry, you can check out any one of the many food stalls for chaat, ice creams and more. This place is also great for home decor shopping, traditional wear, footwear and handlooms.
I bought a skirt and a pair of footwear {for INR 150 each}. There is a very reasonable fee of INR 40 for adults and INR 20 for children.
