Newsflash! We came across another eco-store that was in hiding. Lost inside the street near Paradise Metro Station is Khadi Eco Basket which is a big store with some basic apparel along with your regular sustainable items. There are two reasons this store has khadi in its name — You will see a lot of skincare and toiletries by Khadi, and khadi kurtas for men. If you've been meaning to try Khadi products, ditch websites and check them out here. From scrubs, facewashes, to creams, and lipsticks, they've got everything.
To help us replace single-use plastic, they're selling bamboo toothbrushes, cutlery, pots, and pans. We're not saying they look great, but they do give out an old-world feel. But what does look good are their earthen water filters with desi rangoli on them. Now that summer is going to show us its wrath, this will be a wise purchase.
Surprisingly, this eco-store also has wooden toys and showpieces that you might have spotted at your grandma's place. We're talking about wooden horses, tiny chess boards and mazes, pen holders, puppets, and more. While you are at it, get your hands on earthen water bottles and set an example. They'll cost you INR 300 so it's not a bad deal.
