There's a certain belief that the only way for artists to make profits is to sell their artwork, preferably through a gallery. But the truth is that an artist can use his or her creativity as a jumping-off point for creating a whole new business. Proves the 21-year-old Marzia Ali, who is an artist cum entrepreneur.
Brought up in Nagpur and currently staying in Hyderabad, Marzia started her journey with art watching her mother paint. But it was the summer vacation, and she was in the sixth standard when her mother made her more inclined towards the whole art form. And finally, when she was in the 12th standard, Marzia conducted her first art workshop with 17 people. Through years, she explored watercolour, acrylic, oil, calligraphy, alcohol ink art but found her forte in fluid and resin art. However, her curiosity for business led her to start The Duendo Box, a first-of-a-kind art subscription box service in India where you can find some interesting art supplies that can cost anything between INR 699 and 1,500. Not just that, she also launched her own eco-friendly colours this year and plans to set mark internationally too. We say, just go and check out her page.
