Having recently become a bio-diversity heritage site, the first of its kind for a lake—this place is a great attraction for bird photographers. But, come evening, portrait photographers are here doing pre-wedding shoots. Be careful here though, as beautiful as this place is, it does have lots of birds and animals, so make sure you stay out of their way.

Charminar

This is one of the most historic and most recognised monuments of our country and obviously, the cultural icon of Hyderabad. Plus, this 400-year-old architectural masterpiece is also a UNESCO world heritage site. Cutting short, Charminar can set a background that won't let you take your eyes off it! It's immensely beautiful and easily captures the old charm. However, it is always crowded. So, the best time to go for the shoot would be in the morning.

The Mayabazar

Situated in Shamshabad, about 34 km away from Hyderabad, The Mayabazar is one of our top choices for a pre-wedding shoot in the city. The studio is known for its tailor-made sets, ranging from wall murals to royal palaces, and has over 25 exquisite sets dedicated to photo shoots. We like how all their sets are thoughtfully designed, keeping in mind the mood and aesthetics.

Laknavaram Lake

If you don't mind travelling a few hours, we recommend heading to the Laknavaram lake to make a trip out of your photoshoot days. The hanging bridge over the lake is where you can get some stunning shots of you and your boo. While you're there, you can also indulge in bird watching, kayaking, stargazing, bonfire nights, and camping. Do check the weather forecast and the prevailing weather conditions before heading there, since the lake tends to overflow during the monsoon season.

Nizam Film City

Nizam film city claims to be the biggest air conditioned studio for pre wedding shoots in Hyderabad with forty set themes spread across a five acre property. From minimal to rustic to traditional South Indian, there are several sets here that'll let your imagination run wild. We recommend conducting a recce at the spot to pre-decide on which sets you'll be using, since there's a huge variety to choose from. While they do have caravans on rent, they also have green rooms right next to the sets to save you the tedious walk. And even though there are numerous indoor sets here, the outdoor ones like the palace and a European style villa caught our eye.

Cost: INR 25,000 for 8 hours

Somasila

Known as the Maldives of Telangana, Somasila is known for its beautiful row cottages overlooking the panoramic view of the Krishna river. We recommend booking the cottages at the Haritha resort and starting your shoot in the early hours of the morning. Take advantage of the beautiful coracle rides, and you're sure to come back with stunning images.

Chirala

Looking for the nearest beach destination around Hyderabad? Head to the Chirala beach in the early hours of the morning while the fishermen set out to sail. The beach here is truly stunning and tranquil, and you can book your stay at the Sea Breeze Resorts (where you can also get some shots.) As the day goes by, the beach gets slightly crowded, so we recommend timing it in the early morning hours.

Taj Falaknuma Palace

Nothing speaks of royalty more than the Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad. The heritage property has a lot to offer, right from the absolutely stunning staircases, ballrooms and of course, the panoramic city view. If you have the budget for it, and would like to encompass Hyderabad's most royal sights in your shoot, there's no better place than the Falaknuma palace. We recommend starting your shoot mid-afternoon so you can catch the golden hour as well. Prior permissions need to be taken before heading there with your team.

Cost: INR 200000 for three hours

British Residency

Formerly a part of the Koti Women's College, the British Residency has been restored to its former glory, complete with the ballroom and the iconic staircase. Get some shots on the stairway leading up to the building, or at the Durbar Hall. The 216 year old monument photographs supremely well, which is probably why you may have spotted it in several movies as well.

Timings: 10 AM to 5 PM

Ramappa Temple

Several couples choose the Ramappa Temple, a UNESCO heritage site and the Thousand Pillar Temple at Warangal for their stunning architecture. Both the temples are a few centuries old, are iconic and hold immense historic significance to Telangana. If you're picking the spots for your shoot, we recommend heading there during off season and early hours, so you can shoot at leisure without any disturbances, or disturbing the other tourists. Since they're such significant monuments, it's best to be as careful as you can while you're shooting there.
