Are you one of those people who polishes off all the chakhna at a party? We've found a spot that should be on your must-visit list, especially this festive season. This hidden gem in Secunderabad has been famous for one popular Indian snack for nearly 30 years now.
We're not kidding! Andal Swamy Mixture Shop in Tarnaka, Secunderabad is an unassuming place in the locality that sells Telangana Pindi Vantalu, a variety of namkeen, tiffins, sweets and their star offering, oil-free mixture.
Mixture typically has various ingredients like peanuts, boondi, sev, corn flakes and other spiced goodies that are deep fried and mixed together, rendering the dish its name. The variety sold at Andal though, is significantly oil-free. They make over thirty kilos of fresh Mixture every morning, and it flies off their shelves by the end of the day! We've seen locals pick up the Mixture from Andal Swamy Mixture Shop by the kilo and finish it within a few days because that's how good it is! It goes perfectly well as a side dish with Rasam Rice, or by itself with some finely chopped Onions.
They also have a separate Tiffins section, where you can devour freshly fried snacks like Mirchi Bajji, Aloo Bonda, Punugulu and other snacks during evening hours. Have a hankering for something spicy? Pick up Podis and other namkeen like Garlic Muruku, Masala Peanuts, Sev and many others to complete chakna shopping for your next house party.
