Fan of Asian street food? Have you tried a bao yet? Bringing a dish that originated in China, Abaotime is an exclusive bao outlet in Kavuri Hills that's not big on ambience. We say this because this place is basically a kiosk smacked between other food outlets. Heads up, there's hardly any seating so you should treat this as a drive-in.
A distant cousin of dumplings, bao is essentially a fluffy bun with stuffing in the centre. We tried Crispy Chicken Bao, Chicken 65 Bao, Mutton Kheema Bao, Smoked Lamb Bao, and Mushroom Bao. Served hot and packed with flavour, it does get messy because it's stuffed. If you're a hopeless sweet tooth, they have options like Banana Nutella Bao and Custard Bao. You can order them in two sizes, mini or regular, and you get two baos in one regular. We won't say they're filling or heavy so it's ideal for a cheat-meal which we're all guilty of going overboard on.
