What Makes It Awesome

It took me a couple of minutes to absorb the vivid ambience of Absorb — a new bar in Jubilee Hills. Ever since its launch, we've been hearing good things about the bar's choice of music and we decided to check it out on a live performance night. Awesome music and great ambience? Check! But if you are wondering what's better, it's definitely the food and signature cocktails. I went with a big group (and that's what you should too) and we dug into Dragon Corn Kernel, Bhut Jolokia Cottage Cheese, Kamal Kakdi Ke Shami Kebab and polished them off to bits within seconds. Next on were Quattro Stagioni pizza, lasagna, Grilled Polenta with Trapanesa Sauce, and Chicken Calabrese. All the dishes won a nod from us. I am definitely going back for the Bhut Jolokia Cottage Cheese, though.

The signature cocktails have an interesting mix of popular Goan and Bali themed drinks. I really loved my Rolling Gajah, which is a vodka-based cocktail with dragon fruit and star anise. If you like your cocktails simple, stick to Old Fashioned or Gimlet. The ambience is absolutely on fleek with a Garuda sculpture on a massive wall that also doubles up as a bar counter. Gawk at the sculpture and watch the bartender whip some delicious drinks as you end your meal.

What Could Be Better

The bar has to be punctual about the live performance timings.
