Amsa by Ankitha is a Vizag-based label that handcrafts chic sarees, bright kurtas, sheer organzas. Elegant to bits, this label experiments with handlooms and elaborate handwork too. The fact that every piece of clothing is handmade and has a pocket (so much fun) makes Amsa by Ankitha quite awesome. Ankitha Veerepalli comes from a design background and draws inspiration from the women she bumps into in her everyday life, who balance work and play with panache.
Feminine silhouettes and plenty of handmade detailing go into the making of these products, and we chanced upon these designs. Only to fall head over heels in love with the pieces. For one thing, we really love how colours like parrot green, red, and purple are woven into ethnic wear. The handloom chequered sarees won us over, and the minimal detailing on the kurtas and maxi dresses keep them chic.
As a believer of sustainability, the label works with artisans and sources all the raw materials from the local weavers.
