After Ganesh immersion my thoughts are centered around Durga Pooja and the pandals I plan to visit to relish Bengali cusine and whole festival Vibe.
This not only tests my patience at the same time increases my cravings for Bengali food.
This time the "Bengali food " festival at Mercure Hyderabad KCP was my savior. Executive chef Dipak Adhikary being a Bengali I need not worry about the traditional taste.
They have a lot of variety for vegetarians as well. I started of my dinner with sinful dessert's baked rasgulla , sandesh , mishti doi while I kept gaja , Raj bhoj etc for the end. Puchka (Pani Puri) is a must have at a Bengali food festival. The tangy Pani and masala with crisp Puri made of suji and wheat flour was delicious . Alur chop and mochar chop were crisp and yummy. The dish which impressed me the most was kadaishutir kachori and aluu dum. A deep fried kachori filled with spicy green peas stuffing along with the Bengali fav potato curry . I missed the Bengali biryani which was not available as it's a rotational menu. But relished the metha bhat a sweet saffron flavoured rice.
For my non veg friends hilsa is also part of the menu and can be pre-ordered if not part of the menu on a particular day.
The food festival is part of the dinner buffet and priced at 1250/++ available till 22nd Sept..
