We couldn't go home this festive season, and we were craving pootharekulu. So, we decided to order in Dry Fruit Pootharekulu from G. Pulla Reddy Sweets and Sampradaya Sweets. And what did we like the most? Let dig in...
This Or That: Pootharekulu From G. Pulla Reddy Vs. Sampradaya Sweets
G. Pulla Reddy Sweets
G. Pulla Reddy Sweets truly needs no introduction. This iconic brand has been around for years now and we obviously had to try their Dry Fruit Pootharekulu. Priced at INR 50 per each, these come well-packed and work as gift boxes too. Loaded with dry fruit and khova, we loved the crunch. And the best part? They are not too sugar — just the right balance of flavours.
Sampradaya Sweets
Sampradaya is expanding at a crazy scale and we truly love their range of Andhra sweets. Obviously we had to order their Dry Fruit Pootharekulu. Now we were slightly disappointed because the quantity of dry fruits did no justice to calling them Dry Fruit Pootharekulu. They tasted more like sugar pootharekulu and we've got no complaints but we wanted dry fruit variants only. At INR 42 per piece, they're surely valued for money. But packing is quite flimsy.
And The Emerging Winner Is...
We have compared both the brands based on packaging, taste, and value for money. G. Pulla Reddy has scored 9 for packaging, 10 for both taste and value for money while Sampradaya has scored 7 for packaging, 6 for taste, and 7 for value for money. And the winner is G. Pulla Reddy.
