What Makes It Awesome

Bookstores are some sort of heaven and we don't mind spending hours, holed up in one corner. When we heard that MR Book Centre opened up Book Buffet Store in Jubilee Hills, we naturally had to check it out. After all, this is where we've stumbled upon some rare finds and classic collectables. Tucked right next to McCafe, this store largely reminds you of other MR Book Centre's outlets — books are haphazardly stacked on tables, and while the staff is more than glad to help you pick out some books, we recommend you to wander on! Spot those vintage Peter Pauper publication collections sharing aisles with Pushkin Press Collectibles.

At the entrance, you'll spot all the latest releases, bestsellers, and probably new stock such as Singing In The Dark (poetry during the lockdown), Leave The World Behind, Pachinko, Greenlights, Dune (with the new movie poster jacket), etc. We've also spotted a wide range of books by Lee Child, Enid Blyton, Roald Dahl, Stephen King, Jo Nesbo etc. Walk in a little further and you'll discover some hidden gems, and the best part? They are on discount! Priced between INR 100-300, we've picked books like Notes Of A Dream (a biography on A.R. Rahman), Anjum Hasan's A Day In The Life, Raj Kamal Jha's The City & The Sea at INR 200 each. This is where you'll spot collectibles such as World War One, Lettering On Glass, Great Hair Days, and many more.

Towards the end of the store, there are shelves full of classics. Cannot do without a regular dose of Austen or Dostoevsky? You, my good reader, will hit a jackpot here. If you're into Young Adult fiction, there's plenty for you to check out. Plus, comics, cooking books, and non-fiction collection are quite solid too. So, the next time you want to load up on some books, skip grabbing them online and head over to this local bookstore. You'll discover joy, we promise!

Pro-Tip

MR Book Centre has a pop-up in Madhapur, right next to DMart. There's a sale happening on most books and you can grab select books (2-3 copies) at INR 99, hardbound classics at INR 299, etc.
