Carrot cake is called as Number 1 favourite cake in today's Generation. The origins of carrot cake are disputed. Published in 1591, there is an English recipe for "pudding in a Carrot root". Yet it includes many elements common to the modern dessert, basic ingredients like shortening, cream, eggs, raisins, sweetener, spices like clove and mace, scraped / Grated carrot, and breadcrumbs (in place of flour). Many food historians believe carrot cake originated from such carrot puddings eaten by Europeans in the Middle Ages. The popularity of carrot cake was revived in the United Kingdom because of rationing during the Second World War.
During my Visit at Essence Fusion A year ago, A place serving Variety of Fusion Food, This was the dessert which was quite popular in their menu.
Carrot Halwa Cake, Layered carrot mixture, with Philadelphia Cheese, Served with Raspberry Puree, with coconut and Lime sorbet. Soft and Creamy cake, Sweet raspberry pure goes amazing with The cake, but the sorbet was Out of the world. The sweet and refreshing feel of sorbet was the best I had, it took some time to understand the combo, but turned out brilliant. The cake was super soft but would've been amazing if it was served more chilled.
