Picture this, folks — you want to fix a great meal for your fam, you're unsure where to fend for fresh ingredients, and you want to remove that toque off your head and settle for something plain Jane. Well, that's a sad picture. But fret not — Cook It Yourself (CIY) is here to help. These folks are doing DIY kits and all you've got to do is toss them ingredients together by following their recipes. To us, this sounds beautiful.
Founded by Anam Mirza, who also runs The Label Bazaar and Extraamedia, CIY was floated during the pandemic with the intent to offer easy-to-cook kits to elders, bachelors, and busy-bees. But unlike the other DIY kits out there, this one focusses on authentic Hyderabadi dishes — which means the recipes you receive in the kits are handed down to CIY, over generations. The kits come with pre-portioned ingredients like veggies, meat, masala, and the recipe.
Wondering what dreamy kits are available? Well, allow us to delve into it — some of their best selling dishes are Shaadi Ka Red Chicken, Double Ka Meetha, Bagara Baigan, and Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani. Other kits include Khatti Dal, Talawa Gosht, Shami Kebab, Seviyon Ka Meetha, Dum Ka Kheema, Sheer Khurma, Chicken 65, Aloo 65, and Paneer 65. The price range across the store begins at INR 250 and goes up to INR 750. And what's not to love? It serves a family of 3-4. The next time you're craving something truly Hyderabadi, you know who to hit up, don't you?
