What Makes It Awesome

When Bina Rao and Keshav Rao founded Creative Bee in 1995, we wonder if they knew they were going to create timeless fashion. As designers and artists themselves, Bina and Keshav design their entire collection in-house. When you step into their store in Banjara Hills, you'll find outfits and accessories made from different techniques — shibori, Kalamkari, block-printing, indigo. Of course, you will spot the ever-familiar ikat that you'd want to drape yourself in. With pride, if we may add so.

For someone looking to make a conscious switch to slow fashion, this store offers several reasons. Their crop tops are quite adorable and if you love wearing Indo-western outfits, get your hands on their dresses and tops. Some of their jackets are truly beautiful. Want to get a summer dress stitched? Check out their range of fabric (again designed in-house) that is priced INR 630 upwards. Bina's signature filature silk sarees and dresses are worth checking out. No matter how you crush or use them, these wrinkle-free beauties are always crisp. Every product at the store has a story or information on its technique which is printed right behind the price tag.

Creative Bee has recently launched Kabira — an initiative handloom textile products are sourced from artisans across India. If you're visiting the store (which you must), do check out this collection. Creative Bee also has furnishing, pocket squares, ties, etc. and in fact, they upcycle all the leftover scrap to craft visiting card holders and mobile phone pouches.

Pro-Tip

Creative Bee has a comprehensive website for you to place orders. If you're interested in signing up for their workshops or boot camps, you can book them on the site.
