Ever wondered if you can visit a historical monument with a guide in your pocket? IIIT Hyderabad is making this happen with a digital guide. Starting with Golconda Fort, the university students are working on a digital heritage project with an intention to digitise information related to historical monuments. What this means is really simple — while visiting a monument, you can scan an object {or area} of your interest, and a story with images appears on your screen within minutes. The students are also exploring various storytelling methods that can convey the information in a tailor-stitched format for individuals of different age groups and interests. Now, how cool is that?
