Empty streets with no humans or vehicles around, we could have never imagined Hyderabad in this state. Till we watched the two-minute drone footage that showed the reality and the stark emptiness of Hyderabad’s lockdown. From the views of Charminar to deserted Hitech City, the video was hard-hitting and emotional.
Commissioned by the Government of Telangana, the video was shot by Dulam Satayanarayana (an award-winning documentary filmmaker who has been working with the State government for awareness-oriented videos about tourism, local handlooms, among others and made documentaries like 'Welcome To Telangana') along with a team of 10, under DSN Films label which was founded by him in the year 2008. It is a Hyderabad-based production company that has produced several award-winning documentaries on contemporary social issues, arts and culture. And now, they have tagged along with the government to bring the stories and sights of the city and the people during this Covid-19 pandemic. So far, they have shot several videos, out of which eight are out. This includes the video showing the DRF (Disaster Response Force) disinfecting rail coaches and metros in the city, a tribute to medical healthcare workers who are battling to contain it and how GHMC sanitary workers toiling tirelessly for clean habitations. And now, they are working on a documentary series with Hyderabad City Police that will be out soon.
So, for all of you who are unable to witness the city, devoid of traffic, and the brave work done by the officials & workers to tackle Covid-19, check out their videos shared by IT Minister KT Rama Rao on Twitter. And if you are planning for such projects, you know whom to contact now. Thank us later.
