Organising your wardrobe is no easy task. It's time consuming and something we tend to put off till the very last minute. With all the memories attached to our clothes, to the jewellery, tackling this mess can be tricky. However, with some changes, there can be some method to this madness. We'll tell you 13 easy ways to achieve the organised wardrobe of your dreams with sustainable hacks.

Define Categories for Everything

Three categories we like to work with are 'Discarding', 'Giving Away' and 'Keeping.' If you're not sure about certain items in your closet, we encourage you to have a 'Not Sure' pile that you can sort through later. As you empty the wardrobe, organise all your clothes and accessories into these piles. Organising is something you keep up with regularly, and we recommend having a basket for your 'Giving Away' pile, so you have your stuff ready to go, and a dedicated space for it. We like these pretty plastic Rattan ones by Ikea that sit pretty in the wardrobe and go well with most Indian wardrobe designs.

There are a few clothes we reach out to more than the others. It could be because they're just comfier, or require less maintenance. Instead of having to go through every item based on its purpose, how about colour coding your hangers? For example— work wear could go on pink hangers, and casual fits could go on blue ones. We found this set of pretty pastel hangers to get you started with this hack.

We can't bear to look at winter wear in the scorching summer heat and vice versa. Based on the type of fabric and the care it needs, store them away with appropriate care. We found these Nylon bags that are great for storing woollen clothes and sarees. Not only will this prevent any discolouring of your shelves inside, if you're storing makeup or fragrances, the sheets will also catch any potential spillage. We found these textured ones, 1.5 meters long that you can conveniently cut and customise as per your wardrobe size. They're also great for storing slippery clothes made of Nylon or Polyester.
