This 391-Year-Old Monument Will Be Demolished And You Have To See It One Last Time

Hyderabad, don't you hate it when our treasured monuments are demolished in the name of modern constructions? We sure do. So, when we heard that Goshamahal, the erstwhile royal palace for ladies, is all set to go underground, we were beyond sad. This structure is said to have over 1,000 halls, hanging gardens, and an underground passage to Golconda Fort. Goshamahal along with Qutb Shahi Tombs are considered as the first monuments of Hyderabad that were built on the virgin soil, dating back to the 1500s. Although the palace is nothing more than dilapidated ruins now (but still has beautiful arches), the final remnants of it will vanish too with the construction of a new building. Sigh!

What do you think, Hyderabad? Are we losing a bit of our history in the name of future?
