What Makes Haritha Resort So Special?

Haritha Resort is located on the nook of the land which means the Krishna River surrounds the resort completely. These cosy cottages on the banks of the river are not just aesthetic and soothing but affordable too! You can make it a complete staycation or take a nice weekend getaway here. Wake up to great views with piping hot coffee, enjoy boat rides at the golden hour and indulge in your favourite foods here- the perfect retreat from the daily hustle.

How To Get Here?

This temple town is around four hours from Hyderabad (approximately 172 Km), and we recommend taking a road trip as you'd pass through scenic vistas. Remember that it takes you through Mahbubnagar, which is two hours away from Somasila. Alternatively, you can also reach here via Tirupati, which is closer by about two hours. From both these places you can take a train to Rajampet and hire a taxi from there too. Or take a bus. All the public transport ways cost approximately between INR 2000 to INR 4000.

Another fun away to get here is via a cruise provided by the Telangana tourism department, which departs every Saturday from Hyderabad and halts at Srisailam for one night and Somasila for one night. The whole cruise costs INR 4499 per adult and INR 3600 per child.

What To Do Here?

Somasila is said to have around 15 temples around, and although it's generally less crowded, it brings in plenty of visitors during the Pushkar season. Apart from that, you can expect minimal tourists. The resort has an in-house restaurant that offers a lovely view of the river and hills. Known for its South-Indian comfort food, we've heard only good things about its thalis and filter coffee. While you are at it, we recommend taking boat rides and coracle rides.

A popular destination is the legendary Sangameshwara Temple which is submerged in the Somasila Water Reservoir. This temple although isn't open on all days and can be seen only when water levels are quite low. Apart from this, you can visit the temples in Alampur, Kollapur, Singotam, and Jetprolu. The architectural beauty of these temples is quite something! The accommodation at the resort begins at INR 500.
