What Makes It Awesome

Selling off the cart like hot cakes, Kathmandu Momos attracts a crowd like no other stall in town. Popular for its steamed as well as fried momos, this stall is located right next to a bus stop in Somajiguda and can be easily missed because really it is kind of nondescript. It runs full-house from its opening hours (5 pm) to 10 pm, and most of the stuff gets sold out much before closing time. It’s a simple affair — vegetarian momos (INR 50), paneer momos (INR 60), and chicken momos (INR 60). While we love our momos steamed, you can get them fried at INR 70 if that’s more your thing!

We tried all the three variants that come with a tangy chutney. The chutney is a tad bit spicy (but delicious to them bits), so you might want to have a water bottle handy. The service is quick here and you will be handed a paper plate with six momos (steaming hot) and chutney in no time. Dunk the momos into the chutney and let the hunger games begin. The outer layer is thick with bountiful stuffing inside. We couldn’t get enough of our chicken momos which has tender minced meat, just like the paneer one (with soft paneer mince).

While the momos here are delicious, there is no seating area, and since it is on the road, you might not find a parking lot too. However, don’t let that turn you away. Gather your squad (just like we did) and head here to gratify all your street food cravings.

Pro-Tip

They have a different stall 4 pm onwards near a tea shop right next to the entrance of Katriya Hotels. Think the main stall is too crowded? Get here.
