What Makes It Awesome

Have you visited most of the spots in and around Hyderabad? Set your map to Panchgani, and make it a road trip. This hill station comes with cheap thrills like viewpoints and street food. Sometimes all we need is a slow-paced holiday and we think, waking up in Panchgani is nothing short of one.

Tucked between the hills of Sahyadri mountain ranges, this erstwhile summer resort of the British Raj is a rather sleepy hamlet. The mornings are engulfed in fog and the evenings unravel in a laidback fashion. Whatever is your whim to escape, here, you can saunter in the nearby villages of Panchgani and just bask in the lap of sunshine (and nature).

Located on the banks of River Krishna, the markets of Panchgani is a treat for a sore eye as it abounds in strawberries. Saunter in the Shivaji Circle or pay a visit to Devrai Art Village to explore and purchase Adivasi handicrafts. Kaas Plateau and Table Land are where you can witness carpet of flowers and grass. But be sure to check out Rajpuri Caves, which is said to have sheltered the Pandavas.

Need more? There's always Mahabaleshwar, just an hour away from Panchgani. And the drive to Mahabaleshwar is equally amazing with spots like Kate's Point, Wai. If you want to take in the panoramic view of the town, Panchgani also offers paragliding. But we recommend checking its availability. So, if you've got nothing to do this weekend, head out to Panchgani, and chill like there's no tomorrow.

Pro-Tip

Made from shipping containers, Zostel Panchgani is a  backpacker's hostel perfect for meeting new people. It's hygienic, affordable and cosy.
