Are you a fan of The Jungle Book ? You must explore the real forest at Pench National Park which makes the book's setting, and brings you closer to nature.

What Makes It Awesome

The terrains of the park are rather undulated with small hills, and covered in thick teak and bamboo trees. It is home to a wide range of flora and fauna, and you can spot White Kulu or Mahua trees, and animals like leopards, jackals, hyenas, cheetahs, wild boars, deer and tigers among many others. In fact, the Pench Tiger Reserve is where Rudyard Kipling set Mowgli.

While here, you can go rafting in the river or camp in the forest to make your trip all the more adventurous. They have many tour packages for wildlife photographers, solo travellers, families and for those who want to get insights into the arts and culture of the region on their official website. Not too far from this park is the town of Bhedaghat where you can get some picturesque shots for your Instagram feed. Don't forget to make a visit to the oldest Buddhist destination in India called Sanchi, which is also less than 300 km from this park.

What Could Be Better

The park is closed between July, August and September.
