Goa's Siesta o'Clock is a trove filled with comfortable cotton shirts and prints that you won't stop loving! Founded by Rene and Vaibhav, this brand seeks its inspiration from the Sunshine State. As a result, you'll find lots of Goan motifs and prints like wooden boats, colourful fish, beach doggos, vintage garrafao.
When the couple moved to Goa, they fell in love with everything the state had to offer. It was Vaibhav's newfound love for prints that led to Siesta. Apparently, in the past, Vaibhav's closet only consisted of printed metal tees but one day, they picked up lots of fabric and started out. Now, they don't just pick fabric from across the country but also work with Indian artists to design some shirts which means you can find some unique prints. Their collection includes hand-woven ikats and traditional block prints too.
What we love about Siesta is the slice of nostalgia it offers. Prints like baby pandas, elephants, sassy cats remind us of colouring books from childhood. We were told they're launching train-printed shirts that'll bring back memories from vacations at grandma's. Siesta produces in slow-batches which gives them the freedom to experiment with different prints, and also as a customer, you're bound to find something new all the time.
An eclectic mix of colours and quirky elements, the brand says their shirts are an extension of their freewheeling personalities. Diverse printing techniques, art forms, and colours go into the making of these shirts, and if we were you, we'd call dibs on The Vintage Pasta Shirt and Talk of the Taverna Shirt. Their best-sellers include octopus and the giraffe-print shirts, Block Party shirt. At the moment, their shirts are priced between INR 999-INR 1,599. In the future, they intend to launch womenswear like oversized shirts, accessories, wrap-around skirts along with kids wear.
