The history of baklava is not well documented, its current form was probably developed in the imperial kitchens of the Topkapı Palace in Istanbul. The Sultan presented trays of baklava to the Janissaries every 15th of the month of Ramadan in a ceremonial procession called the Baklava Alayı!
This dessert is made of layers of filo pastry filled with chopped nuts and sweetened with syrup or honey. It is a common dessert of Iranian, Turkish and Arab cuisines. Its the special dessert in Arabian Countries, But now it A favourite dessert of everyone in Hyderabad too.
I recently had these baklavas at Spice 6, A famous Place for Authentic Middle East Cuisine. The Baklavas were decent and sweet. It was flaky and crunchy, filling of nuts were good.
While the Kunafa was very impressive. Anither speciality desseet from thr Middle east cuisine. Served Hot, Cheesy and creamy, Coated well with Sugar syrup! I liked the Kunafa here than Baklava!
