Spicy Venue

Up for a traditional Telugu meal? You cannot miss out on the South Indian Thali at Spicy Venue on Road No. 10, Jubilee Hills. Any time of the day, you will always find the restaurant full. We love the dal and the flavoured rice, and the biryani here is made in the Andhra style. If you like spicy food, go for the Avakaya Chicken Biryani. The Chicken Fry Pulao is awesome, with chunks of tender chicken deep-fried and added to the biryani. However, what keeps taking us back to Spicy Venue is Apricot Delight, a custard-based dish that’s made from apricot and has a seriously staunch fan base.

For both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, their menu has a lot of options in starters, and honestly, you’ll be full before even going to the main course. But the Krishnapatnam special kodi kura and guntur podi paneer masala are unmissable.

One of the oldest South Indian restaurants in Hyderabad, Rayalaseema Ruchulu, has a loyal fan following. If you've got a thing for seafood, then dig into the Special Rayalaseema Seafood thali that comes with prawns, fish, alongside other regional delicacies like ragi sangati, jonna rotte, and thali regulars like dal, sambar, rice, and curries. They also have other thalis like veg and non-veg that come with meaty goodness like mutton, chicken, kheema, etc. If the thaali is heavy, we recommend Andhra chicken and Mokkajonna Garelu.

Adbhutaaharam

We were taken to this south Indian restaurant on the bait of ‘everything here is spicy’ and we approve, they are. The signature dishes here, like Nalli Ghosh Biryani, Bhimavaram Potlam, and Telangana Kunda Biryani, will make your eyes water for sure. A clean ambience that suits a family restaurant, we like how the dishes here are served in homely copper plates. Think you can tolerate spice? Check it out yourself.
