What Makes It Awesome

Popular Mumbai-based cafe, Tea Villa has opened a new outlet in Jubilee Hills, and we rushed to check it out. The outdoors have teapots and fairy lights hanging from a tree. Walk in to find corners with minimal decor that include hanging plants, and cosy velvet chairs that lend it a regal look. On the first floor, you can even dine on swings (when it's time for a kitty party) or sit by a window and take in all the natural light. From their multi-cuisine menu that has Continental, Chinese, Italian, Indian, Mexican and Lebanese — we picked a platter of Crispy Lotus Roots With Honey & Chilli, Baked Lasagne, and Hunan Sauce With Veg Manchurian Sizzler. The appetiser was crisp and overflowing with a tangy sauce and had a sweet flavour of honey. The very sight of the lasagne and sizzler got us drooling. The veggies on the lasagne were cooked to perfection, but it was way too cheesy for our liking. The Hunan sauce sizzler was the show stopper with generous portions of rice (you can opt for noodles too), that when paired with the bites of Manchurian, French Fries, and the spicy Hunan Sauce made for a really large meal.

Everything at this café is vegetarian, and you can get Jain food options as well. The menu keeps getting new additions every six months, and we think we'd be back here to try out their breakfast too. Who can resist waffles and Dutch Pancakes, after all? Besides, they have over 100 flavours of tea (no kidding!) that are pretty innovative like Japanese Sencha or Coconut Chai. So, the next time you want to have a good time with bae, or chill with your friends — take them here, and you won't regret it. For those of you looking to have some alone time, grab one of the books from the shelves here and spend an afternoon reading and sipping your tea.
