When we first stumbled upon The Wilderness Retreat on Instagram, we truly couldn't believe this resort is located in Hyderabad. Tucked in Kokapet, TWR is impeccably designed. For one thing — all the rooms are designed after national parks such as Bandipur, Kabini, Kaziranga, Corbett...you get the drift. Whether you're traveling with bae or with a large group — the resort offers facilities and ample privacy for both kinds of travellers. 

A stone's throw from the Gandipet Lake, this resort hosts a bunch of activities to make your stay more immersive. From nature trails and bonfire nights to go-karting and a spa (which has a floatation tank, what!) — you are in for a great holiday. And the best part? This pet-friendly resort is a treat for birdwatchers. 

Let's get to the mains — the stay. If you're planning to unwind with bae (but on a budget), go for Bandipur, Tadoba, or Ranthambore cabins. These 160sqft. cabins have lovely little private lawns or decks. Watch out for that open-air bathroom for an Into the Wild experience. Don't mind the extra splurge? Go for the executive cabins (Periyar, Pench, or Kaziranga). Pench looks truly adventurous and rustic — we've heard only good things about its view. Other notable rooms include Kabini, Sunderbans (spot a tiny water body with trees forming a canopy), and Gir. All the rooms come with WiFi, free brekkie, A/C, refrigerator, private decks (or lawns), etc. among other facilities. The tariff begins at INR 4,000 and goes up to INR 15,000, per night.

And oops, did we forget to mention you can also opt for camping and barbeque across all rooms? Geez, all the more fun!

The property has an in-house restaurant where you'll eat right under the stars. If you're craving something off the menu, the chef can accommodate it for you, as long as you have a conversation in advance.
