12 Things To Do On Rakhi In Hyderabad With Your Siblings This Year

The information in this post might be outdated

Siblings and cousins are often some of the best people in our lives, no matter how annoying they can be. Love them or hate (read: tolerate) them, it's always a fun time when they're around. If you're looking to make the day special, here are 12 things to do in Hyderabad with your siblings this Raksha Bandhan.

Have An All-You-Can-Eat Feast At Your Fav Restaurant

All the siblings fight for food —hiding snacks and taking a big bite from each other's share is something that never changes. Remind them and put those quarrels to rest by having a feast at the restaurant or cafe of your choosing. There's literally no shortage of cuisine-specific eateries in Hyderabad, so you can have your go at anything, such as good old biryani, Punjabi, Italian, and even Mexican. This is one of the best rakhi activities you can think of. To take this up a notch, check out a place with live music. We suggest Tabula Rasa, Stone Waters and EXT - The Moonshine Project.

Compete For Wins At Arcade Games

Bowling, racing, football, cricket, and laser tag—if you're looking for exciting Rakhi activities, head to your nearest arcade, like Smaaash or Thrill City, and have a go at all the games there. For the sake of all the childhood gaming memories, you can create more memories and keep the bond alive.

LBB Tip: Expect some rush, but be smart about it. Call up places and see if you can reserve your spot in advance.

Escape Rooms

Out of all the rakhi activities we suggest, this one's a must-do in our books. Our siblings are often our partners in crime, and what better way to make the most of your unlikely camaraderie than in an Escape Room? Escape rooms like Escape Time or Mystery Rooms are great places to go for an evening of adventurous fun.

Timings: 11 AM to 11 PM

LBB Tip: This goes without saying, but you have to book a room/story in advance. Personally, we suggest you go for horror themes to spice it up.

Get Your Hands Dirty At Artsy Workshops

If you and your sibling love artsy hobbies, then this is the perfect idea for you! One of the most fun and peaceful Rakhi activities is visiting pottery and painting workshops, where you can unleash your creativity. There are many in the city, and we have a ready guide who will help you. Check out Kalakshetra and Claysutra Pottery Studio for regular workshops. Also, check our events list.

Let Loose At A Rage Room

Channel your frustration with your sibling and break a bunch of stuff over a couple of hours—no holds barred. Head to the Rage Room, where you'll get to channel your rage with absolutely no consequences. It's one of the whackiest Rakhi activities and one of the most fun ones, too.

Price: INR 1,300 onwards

Timing: 12 PM to 12 AM

LBB Tip: The Rage Room is open until 12 AM, so you can combine that with other plans from this list.

Take A Break In Nature

Thanks to crazy work schedules and adult life in general, we're rarely able to spend time with our family. If you have some much-needed catching up to do, we suggest taking the day off and heading to The Wilderness Retreat. They have a bunch of pretty cottages in the midst of nature to give you some time away to relax. We suggest ringing them up to enquire if they have festive activities planned; they're known to organise something fun.

Price: INR 4,000 onwards

Lace Up & Hike!

Multiple spots in and around Hyderabad, like the Bhongir Fort, Medak Fort, Khajaguda Hills, and Moula Ali, offer stunning views of the city and its surroundings. And if you have an adventure bug that you share with your siblings, this is a Rakhi activity you must explore. Drive up to the spots early in the morning to catch the sunrise or post work to catch the sunset.

LBB Tip: Don't forget to check the weather, though!

Take A Dance Class

If your first dance partner was your sibling, rekindle your love for dance at the nearest studio. Head to HY Dance Studios for a power-packed Bollywood session or learn some core engaging contemporary moves. With classes priced at INR 450 per session, we think it's a fabulous way to spend some fun time together.

Price: INR 450 per session and INR 2,500 per month

Gather All Your Cousins For A Private Movie Screening

Do you know Hyderabad has many private theatres that you can rent, decorate, and watch your favourite movies? Yup! A unique rakhi that's perfect for your big gang of siblings. See what private theatre is near you and make arrangements.

Price: INR 1,499 onwards

Timings: 24 hours open

LBB Tip: If you're looking for suggestions, we've heard great things about The Binge Town and Tapes n Tales.

Go Book Shopping

If you have a shared love for books, then check out the latest bookstore in Hyderabad. Luna Books is excellent for discovering upcoming and interesting authors from around the world that you may have never heard of. You could easily spend hours checking out their amazing collection together. They also have gift cards for your Rakhi gifting.

Timing: 11 AM to 6 PM, Closed on Monday.

LBB Tip: Buy books for each other and write a sweet note on the first page. You and your sibling will cherish a thoughtful gift like this forever.

Get Pedicures Together

Chances are you have already introduced your sibling to skincare and self-care. If you're pressed for time, schedule a pedicure session together so you can quickly catch up. We love the Envi Salon and Nail Talk as they have some pretty great service.

Timings: 11 AM to 8:30 PM

LBB Tip: Many salons offer combos when two or more people are getting services. Call them up and get all the details so you get the best deal.

Order In Sweet Treats

If you're having a low-key Rakhi celebration at home, then make it sweeter with a Rakhi activity that's right up your comfort zone: order in desserts and goodies. From assorted chocolate boxes to brownies and Chocolate Bites, we love all things sweet from Feranoz, Magnolia Bakery, and Concu.
