There’s no denying that as soon as Ramzan begins, food takes centre stage with biryani reigning supreme. Festivities in Vijayawada are no different. Lanes are lit up, celebrations are in full swing and biryani becomes the flavour of the season.
While Hyderabadi biryani is known by everyone for its distinct flavour, its cousin from Vijayawada is not too far behind. The difference between both these biryanis lies in the spice level. Vijayawada is known for its spice-laden dishes, right from Mirchi Bhajji, Chicken 65 to the popular Vijayawada biryani. The flavourful, aromatic dish is made with juicy boneless meat, basmati rice, and a special spice mix that gives you a lovely spice kick.
This Ramzan, LBB in collaboration with Thums Up, is on a mission to find the best biryani in Vijayawada. For that, we’re organising a very special food walk and bringing Thums Up Toofani Biryani Gully to Panja Center on 19 March!
Thums Up Toofani Biryani Gully will take you on a biryani trail from Bismillah Biryani, New Chand Hotel, Star Biryani to Taj Biryani, and you can decide which biryani is the best. And of course, while you’re gobbling up steamy mouthfuls of rice, pair it with some chilled Thums Up to take your experience up a notch.
The city’s favourite model and actor Baseer Ali will also be a part of the biryani walk and the subsequent celebrations. But there’s more— we will also have experts take us on a historical tour and tell us about the ancient city and the importance of biryani.
