Warangal Fort
If you want to explore the historical side of Warangal, you must visit the Warangal Fort. In fact, it’s a prominent landmark for the whole state of Telangana. When you’re there, check out the ornamental gates that make up the current official emblem of Telangana and the remains of the Kakatiya Dynasty.

Next to it, there’s also the Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary, which sustains several species of flora and fauna.

Ramappa Temple
Once the heart of the ancient Kakatiya Dynasty, Ramappa Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been dedicated to Lord Shiva for over 40 years now. It's located approximately 77 km from the main city, but being a top attraction, finding public transport will not be difficult. Plus, if possible we'd suggest visiting on a weekday as the weekend can get quite busy.

Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary
One of the oldest wildlife sanctuaries in Telangana, Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary is for sure one of the best places to visit in Warangal. 110 km away from the city centre, it’s a huge sanctuary that not just houses animals but also has the Dayyam Vagu River flowing through. It’s green all over, and you can spot tigers, spotted deer, wolves, panthers, black bucks, giant squirrels, jackals and antelopes. What makes it even better? This place is one of the rarest ecoregions in the world. The 806 sq km is covered with rising and falling plains and dense forest. It’s also home to Sammakka Sarakka Jathra, Asia’s largest tribal jahtra.
