While a home is where the heart is, it's also where beautiful furniture is. Virsah—a Hyderabad-based brand founded by Nafees Ahmed Samani crafts bespoke furniture, and we think this brand can add soul (and even zing) to our homes. We're in the age where we've got to responsibly use our resources and Virsah knows how to do it! This brand makes use of reclaimed, seasoned, and repurposed wood to craft its pieces. So far, the brand has used around 400 tonnes of such wood which is the equivalent of nearly 250 trees since 1978. Now, this is what we call beauty with a purpose!
Virsah is a spin-off of a family-owned business started by Nafees's late father, Ameer Ahmed. If you're keen on lending minimalistic and antiquarian energy to your home, this brand can surely handcraft some pieces. Three things absolutely worth checking out: Vintage Card Table, The Rani Chair (that comes with antique gold finish on the carved motifs and flowers), Accent Chair with Pouffe. These pieces were personalised for their customers but we couldn't stop gawking at them on Instagram. The Rani Chair apparently took 35 days and seven artisans have worked on them. That shows how seriously Virsah takes its furniture and pays attention to every detail.
The artisans at Virsah are from UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kashmir, Kerala, Kolkata, Orissa, and Rajasthan. At the moment, the store is entirely online, and you can reach out to them for customisations. The pricing depends on the design and your choice of pieces. The brand hopes to open a studio soon, and we're quite excited about that.
