Kathmandu Momos is a street cart selling momos every evening, and of course, you often see students here on days when there are extra classes. Remember the days when you stayed back in the area after college, just to satiate your momo craving? With pocket-friendly prices and three variants of momos to dip in spicy chutney, we love hanging out here.
Swati Tiffins
When hunger strikes, it cannot get better than buttery dosas and rasam idli. Swati Tiffins in Somajiguda serves up a selection of tiffins, meals, and some Indo-Chinese dishes. Skip those Indo-Chinese dishes and go for a Masala Dosa, Set Dosa, and Bisibelli Bath. All the tiffin items are served with fresh coconut chutney and piping hot sambar. There's no seating area — you've got to stand and eat your meal. Finish up your meal with a cup of Masala Chai or fresh juice and you're sorted.
Dumont
Located near Fab India, Dumont is a tiny place that can be easily missed when you're on the road. So, go all squinty and pay a little attention. Their menu has over 20 ice cream flavors and we tried almost all of them (Yup, we're greedy like that). FYI, don't go expecting munchies like fries here as they only have icecreams. We ordered one scoop of Maple & Cinnamon Short Bread, Caramelised Pineapple, Dumont Chocolate, and Cookies & Cream for INR 290. Now that's a steal!
Rocket Fuel Cafe
One of the most crowded places in the area, Rocket Fuel Cafe is where you should for munchies, mocktails, Italian, and Chinese. Done up in dark tones to give an edgy vibe, it's an ideal place for you to chill with your friends and make plans. They've got indoor and outdoor seating, but we prefer sitting inside to avoid the traffic and honks. News flash! They recently started serving a hearty English brekkie too, so you can hit this place as soon as it opens at 8 am.
Headquarters
This bar in Somajiguda has become a landmark on its own. Say hello to graffiti on the walls, black walls, jazzy music as you walk in and order away. They have a small outdoor seating too, which doesn't face the road for good reasons. One of the few bars in this area, order a plate of nachos and sip the sin with your pals. They also have a rustic bike on display which adds the vibe of this. Insta-worthy, yes!
