30th Surajkund Crafts Mela for Street Food and a Ferris Wheel

The information in this post might be outdated

What is it?

The most fun mela that happens every year right outside Delhi {just 8kms from south Delhi, in fact}. It is a celebration of Indian folk traditions and cultural heritage in an ambience that reminds us of childhood fairs: Think Columbus rides that can trigger heart disease for life. The theme state this year is Telangana, and you will also get to see some gorgeous Sri Lankan handlooms and handicrafts.

Who is it for?

For everyone who wants to take some time off. Get some cotton candy and spend the day getting on rides and buying home decor stuff for yourself and your extended family.

Why should I go for it?

Handmade products, food from across the country {especially street food that keeps you coming back for more} and childhood handmade games that you can trip nostalgically on, will all be there to welcome you.

Organised by the Haryana Tourism board, you won’t get fleeced at the different stalls, so get a wallet full of cash and a bag to hold all the goodies you shop for.
