Have You Ever Stayed At Any Of These 7-Star Hotels In Delhi?

The information in this post might be outdated

We don’t mean to sound like the uninvited know-it-alls, but officially, a seven star hotel is a myth {and all authorized rating bodies would agree}. Nevertheless, for those of you who asked, we got you a list of creme-de-la-creme of Delhi hotels that are so fab, they deserve those seven stars.

The Lodhi

Proudly exhibiting the art and culture of India, The Lodhi offers you a stay reeking of opulence and comfort with 40 rooms that have their own private plunge pools {apart from the standard and garden terrace ones}. In addition to that, they have a spa and salon, a library with an adjacent cigar lounge, a pool and a state-of-the-art gym with ample space for pilates, doing yoga and playing squash. There are 3 dining options – including an all-day pool cafe. We love the amalgam of contemporary art {especially curated by the founder of Apparao Galleries of Chennai} with modern architecture – nothing is OTT here.

JW Marriott

Luxury travellers, rejoice! This famous American hotel is located in Aerocity – right next to IGI airport! The place will make emptying your deep pockets totally worth it by giving you ample privacy and space, as well as extravagant facilities. We suggest taking time out to be pampered at their 24X7 Quan Spa {a recent recipient of the most luxurious spa treatment award by the Asia Spa Awards} or get the fitness groove going in their fitness centre or the T- shaped pool. They also have awesome restaurants on-site like the K3 – a round-the-clock, buffet style restaurant, Akira Back for a taste of Japanese and Korean cuisines and more {four of them, to be precise}. The rooms are minimally done and designed to make you feel relaxed as soon as you step in.

The Leela Palace

Dreaming of the luxurious palace-slash-hotels in Rajasthan? No worries! The Leela stands all tall and proud as the only modern palace hotel in Delhi. Located in the most posh locality of the capital, it was voted one of top four best hotels in the world by Robb Report in 2012. It boasts of over 236 rooms and 18 suites, six dining options, an infinity swimming pool {the only terrace pool in the city!} and more. Business and leisure travellers, they have specially curated {and eclectic} offers, some of which are named Suite Indulgences, Culinary Sojourn and Kamal – meant for the single lady travellers. Given that some of the most refined artworks adorn their interiors, you can even go for an art walk. Check their website to find out more.

Taj Diplomatic Enclave

The word Taj is synonymous with all things grand and fancy. True to the word, their Mughal-inspired interiors will give you a taste of both the old and the new Delhi. The rooms too, are tastefully done. Plus, there’s a large garden pool with sunbeds, a soothing Jiva span, and even room to play golf. For dining, they have five options as well as a bar. For those planning one, they’ll arrange trips to the Taj Mahal and to nearby sightseeing areas {just ask their 24-hour Golden Keys Concierge}. This is Indian hospitality at its best.

The Roseate

It takes just one look to be completely mesmerised by the beauty of this luxury resort. There’s plenty of greenery and water-bodies which go seamlessly with their OTB architecture inspired by the five natural elements. Expect soothing temple bells, gigantic doors, high dome ceilings and more. Excellent service is something they take pride in. With three distinct dining options, a luxury spa, an exclusive club and not to mention- a boutique, they promise you a stay that will not only delight your senses, but also cater to your shopping or clubbing needs.

The Imperial

The place screams colonial elegance and is one of India’s best luxury historical hotels. Expect vintage photographs, architectural brilliance and astounding Victorian decor. Even the staff wears a vintage-y uniform. But don’t let all the old-school looks deceive you. In terms of amenities and facilities, they are very modern and at the top of their game – the place is massive, with 235 rooms {with special luxury ones for single lady travellers}, nine dining venues, a spa, three types of meetings-slash-ballrooms, a gorgeous pool and more.  Also, Connaught Place, a major hub for food and shopping is a stone’s throw away.

ITC Maurya

Named after the famous dynasty of India, this hotel is a top pick for all the haute crowd – we’re talking celebs and leaders. Soaked in all things lavish, their walls are adorned by the works of the most refined artists, and the structure is built like the rising steps of a Buddhist stupa. They have 437 luxury rooms, including 25 uniquely designed suites. Room service too, is just a Tweet away. {You read that right, they have a Twitter concierge}. For dining, you’ve got nine options, including the iconic Bukhara restaurant which serves delicacies from the North-West frontier. With a pool, a high-tech gym, a spa and a salon, they’ve earned brownie points for going green in providing all luxury {translation – feel free to indulge yourself guilt-free!}

The Oberoi

With interiors that are inspired by Sir Edward Lutyen’s architecture {for those who still don’t know, that’s the Brit architect who designed the ‘new’ of Delhi}. Their rooms promise gorgeous views of either the Delhi Golf Course greens or Humayun’s Tomb. With 24-hour business and fitness centres, a spa, heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, guests can expect getting spoilt rotten under their care. There are four restaurants in this hotel, apart from the bar and the cigar lounge of which Cirrus9, their open-air rooftop bar and Enoteca, the temperature controlled wine cellar at the lobby level {with specially curated selection of wines and champagnes} are on our must-see lists.

The Westin

Business travellers, G-town has its own dose of lavish for you. Just 15 minutes away from the IGI airport, The Westin has clutter-free meeting rooms, a heavenly spa and a fitness studio. We loved their all-marble, modern interiors. It has three venues for dining {which includes a pool side one} as well as a lobby bar and a lounge. And they’re all about Sunday being family day – till the month of July, they’re offering a Sunday Brunch with all-day pool access {and martinis and G&Ts on the side}, authentic flavors from around the globe, live entertainment and enough activities to keep your kids engaged.
