Registrations closed! ------------------ In the northern part of Delhi, on the banks of the river Yamuna, lies a settlement of Tibetans in the area of New Aruna Nagar, otherwise known as the Majnu ka Tila. A hidden gem, this area is frequented by locals, including college students. This settlement came into being during the Tibetan uprising which took place in 1959, when the government of India allotted the land to the Tibetan refugees. We will explore authentic Tibetan cuisine such as laping, tingmo, shabalay, etc. Apart from delicious food offered here, visitors can shop as well. Dreamcatchers, prayer flags, and perfumeries are widely available. We end our walk visiting a monastery and eating some lapings, soaking in the Tibetan culture. This guided tour is free.
