Age limit: 8 years above Total Seats: 12 - No cash reservations allowed Fees: Rs. 1500/- (Including material) About the Artist: Kailash Kumar Pradhan is an accomplished Gond Artist from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. His works are mostly depictions of nature done in a colorful and detailed Gond style. His talent was soon recognized, and his work was exhibited all over the country. About Gond art: The word “Gond” comes from the Dravidian expression kond, meaning “the green mountain.” The recorded history of the Gond people goes back 1400 years. The Gonds paint their walls with vibrant depictions of local flora, fauna and gods such as Marahi Devi and Phulvari Devi (Goddess Kali). Traditionally made on festive occasions, these paintings depict various celebrations, rituals and man’s relationship with nature. The artists use natural colors derived from charcoal, colored soil, plant sap, leaves, and cow dung. This mystical art form is created by putting together dots and lines. The imaginative use of the line imparts a sense of movement to the still images. Join us in celebrating one of our favourite Indian art forms at our roastery on the 16th!
