NISA SHETTY JAYANT MANCHANDA PARNAI AT JAZZ BY THE PARK The trio comprises of Nisa Shetty on Vocals, Pranai gurung on guitars and Jayant Manchanda on Double Bass. The trio primarily plays Jazz standards with a mix of popular tunes rearranged in a jazz format. All the members are accomplished musicians and have been collaborating with various projects and groups. NISA SHETTY 24 years old besides being an accomplished singer have been busy with theatre acting in Mumbai and Delhi lately. Her family runs the well known arts institution, Akshara Theatre, in New Delhi. She has been trained in Western and Classical vocals, basic contemporary dance and also acting. She has been a part of over 40 stage productions from the age of 12. Her biggest and latest production was Beauty and The Beast - which is now India's biggest theatrical stage production ever- with Disney India and UTV under Siddhart Roy Kapur and Vikrant Pawar. JAYANT MANCHANDA is a Bass player based out of New Delhi. Started playing bass at the age of 18 Jayant, within a short time became a part of the delhi music circuit. Always being really passionate about music and playing live, he started playing with a lot of bands in the city and a became a regular session player for a lot of acts. Jayant has also been studying music formally and also attended the prestigious "swarnbhoomi academy of music", studying under some of the best musicians from around the world. Jayant has been a regular face with a lot of bands in and around the delhi music circuit and has been a regular bass player with delhi based setup Adil & Vasundhara. He has also played at prestigious festivals like Indigo International jazz and blues festival and venues like Blue jazz. He has also played gigs across the border in Singapore and Malaysia. Apart from this Jayant has also recorded for movies and short films. Undoubtedly one of the finest guitarists in the city, Pranai has been writing and collaborating with various musicians for over 15 years. He is as much as ease with Jazz and Bebop as with Funk, Pop, Retro, RnB and the Blues. He has worked with DRIFT The Trio, Silk Route (Mohit Chauhan’s band), Bipul Chettri, Shilpa Rao, BLU, The Crossover Jazz Collective, BollyJazz, Red Mawkin, etc. International artists like German Saxophonist Rainer Pusch, Gianni Dennitto and French singer Raphaelle Brochet have invited him to collaborate in what turned out to be performances of significant critical acclaim. Pranai has also performed concerts in some prestigious festivals like Jazzmandu 2003, NH7 2012, Shillong Jazz n Blues Festival 2014, Dhaka Jazz n Blues Festival 2015, Pune Jazz Utsav 2015, Hyderabad Jazz festival 2015, NH7 2015 and music venues in USA, Australia, UK, Dubai, Hong kong, Nepal and India. His versatility and experience led him to take up music education as a business as well. Pranai is the Academic Head and Director at the Blue Notes Music School in South Delhi which was established in 2008 and has created many successful music professionals in the city. PRANAI GURUNG, one of the finest guitarists in Delhi, has been writing and collaborating with various musicians for over 15 years.
