On a Muggy Night in Mumbai is a play about how society creates patterns of behaviour and how easy it is for individuals to fall victim to the expectations society creates. Of the characters, Sharad and Deepali are comfortable with their sexuality, and have different ways of being gay. Kamlesh is anguished, and Ed the most obvious victim of of his own insecurities. Bunny, the TV actor, is a rather more traditional Indian gay man - married while publicly denying his own nature, and Ranjit has taken an easy way out by moving to Europe where he can 'be himself' more openly. They are brought together in such a way as to bring out their conflicts, repressions and past secrets. The tickets are available at Shri Ram Centre and BookMyShow
