Pop Tuesday Ft. The Little Island

The Little Island is an acoustic duo based in Delhi, who love to experiment with blues and jazz. They believe the most important part of music is to keep the joy alive; but most of all, blending.They are keen learners but mostly derive influence from John Mayer, Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, Lianne la Havas, and The Beatles. They try to keep their music as wide ranged as their influences. Members Renie Mathew has sung for as long as she can remember. She started with Gospel music and then moved on to participate in music competitions at school at as little an age as 12. Later she moved on to be part of the reputed western music society of Jesus and Mary College, Echo and the Delhi based 13-year-old western music choir, The Neemrana Music Foundation. Akash Gadamsetty is a singer-songwriter and part time guitarist who trained himself till the age of 20 when he finally came in touch with the Neemrana Music Foundation where he has been training under Mr. Jasmin Martorell for western classical vocals since the past two years. He is also training under Mr. Elangovan Govindarajan for vocals in Indian Classical Carnatic Music.
