The weather is exactly right to get down and fill your hands with paper maché to create anything your imagination can conjure up. All in a serene and relaxed setting, away from the concrete jungle, at Sanskriti Kendra Who Is It For? Of course it’s a great new hobby idea for the kids, but why not explore any dormant skills you might have as well? The event is open to children above the age of eight, and to interested grown-ups. Why Should You Go For It? Make your afternoon interesting and surprise yourself with your own handmade shapes using a squishy, squashy material and take them back home with you. All you need to bring any utensil/mould to shape the paper mache pulp. You will learn: • Process of pulp making with paper and Fuller’s Earth (Multani Mitti) • Free hand mold making • Sculpture techniques In addition, walks of Sanskriti Museum, the Crafts Museum, and public and private studios. He has successfully conducted more than 50 workshops & exhibitions nationally. Artist has won many awards till date & has more than 25 years of experience in PAPER MACHE. About the Venue: The Sanskriti Kendra is the Foundation’s Cultural Centre located in an idyllic natural environment with sprawling lawns, towering trees, flowering shrubs, lotus-ponds, homes to birds and butterflies (Nature at Sanskriti). Patna, Murhu, Hazaribagh , Madhubani and Saraikella are the craft practicing centres in Bihar and Jharkhand. Papier mache toys and dolls are modelled on folk tradition which has continued to find vibrant expression in their work. This craft is light, cheap, durable and adaptable for making decorative bowls, vases, pots, jars, frames, masks, exotic beads, earrings, bangles and trinkets, containers and boxes for storing grains, fruits, dry fruits and also for making jewellery and bangle boxes. When completely dry, the object is coloured in vibrant hues minerals, roots and flowers or poster colours.
