Hidden behind the urban clutter lies a Delhi where a different era pulsates, and from one such time in this season of festivities we bring for our musaafirs the stories from the 'Phoolwaalon ki Sair.' We will walk through the places which see Mehrauli turn into a fair of flowers and colors and understand how a Mughal prince's dislike of a British resident led to the events that finally culminated into a festival that beholds in it's essence unity, transcending all faiths. We will understand it's cultural and religious significance and how it saw a revival post independence. We shall trace our steps with many more interesting kisse and kahaaniyaan in the voice of the Karavan's storyteller starting from, 1. Yogamaya Temple 2. Adham Khan Tomb 3. Dargah Qutub Sahab 4. Zafar Mahal 5. walk through the Mehrauli village 6. Mughal era Jharna and to the Jahaz Mahal, which illuminates with the cultural celebrations organised by the state government. NOTE: Our discussion will be done in Zabaan-e-Dilli (Urdu/Hindi ONLY). The state government each year organises events to mark the celebration of Phoolwalon ki Sair. Free passes are available for the same, at different venues.You may please go and acquire passes if you wish to attend the event. We shall update you with the places dispensing passes if you wish to attend the event. The published time for Qawwali and other celebrations at Jahaz Mahal is around 7 pm, by Sair E Gul Faroshan. While we will stick to our deadlines, Delhi Karavan shall not be responsible for any delay in the timings of programmes scheduled at Jahaz Mahal post walk.) Best Way to Reach: Take the Metro till Qutub Minar on the Yellow Line (Gurgaoon-Jahangirpuri Track), cross MG Road and then take an auto (Rs 40) or Park your cars at Qutub Minar complex & or at Yogamaya Temple car parking , and take an auto (Rs 20).
