What Makes Them Awesome

Fascinated by the term Aromatherapy (or believe in it)? Then you must check out Secret Alchemist, a slow beauty brand that claims to use 100% natural ingredients in wellness products for both mental and physical ailments. Founded by Sumi Thadani, (an aromatherapist for the past 20 years) and Ankita Thadani, Secret Alchemist features a bunch of wellness products for the hair, skin, relief, and relaxation.

Over the past month, I've been using the DREAM - Sleep Inducing Oil which is meant to be a natural sedative that relaxes the nerves and mind. The CALM - Anxiety Reliever packed that is packed with basil, lavender, sandalwood, ylang ylang, and vitamin E which are ingredients that have natural calming properties and uplifts your mood (this one has become a staple for me— I carry it around pretty much everywhere now!) Both of these are roll-ons which are easy to carry, luxe-looking and come in glass containers. And safe to say, do what they claim.

For skin care, I tried the GLOW- Pigmentation Gel that's meant to brighten up your skin, reducing pigmentation. Despite me using it for a number of days I didn't see a significant difference (but do stay tuned for an update) It's packed with cucumber gel, frankincense, lemon, lime, orange, sandalwood—aka, smells heavenly. I also tried the FADE- Acne Scar Gel (though I wasn't sure about applying both at once so I resorted to an AM-PM routine) this one is mainly to control sebum production and clears acne marks, with cucumber gel, hyssop, sage and other things. It did make a difference on my skin—reducing my month old acne scars quite a bit!

Their products usually retail at INR 699 upwards. They also have a bunch of oils (for dandruff, cellulite, migraines, hair etc.) which are definitely worth checking out.

What Could Be Better

The print on the products is quite small (forcing the user to check out the website for directions) which may be inconvenient for some. Also, the roll-ons tend to leak sometimes which isn't very nice if you like carrying them around in your bag!

Pro Tip

When you first sniff the products they might come off as overly fragrant, but that's only because they're all natural and concentrated, once applied and soaked into the skin, they're quite bearable.
