THE MUMBAI ZOO, presented by Theatrecian, and in association with Akshara Theatre and The Cacophonee, examines the act of terrorism. The play attempts to explore the mind of a terrorist responsible for the Mumbai Blast and presents his justification for the need of such an act. A single skull cap marks the difference between Dhruv and Raquib, and both characters are performed by the Theatrecian founder, Tathagata Chowdhury. The play represented India at the South Asian Theatre Festival in Cincinnati, USA, in 2014. At the Kalakranti Theatre Awards, this production received Best Actor and Best Play awards. “It’s brilliant and honest.
