From the intellect into the unknown.” 2. Djembe Workshop by Nitin Virat Djembe Workshop – Learn the Art of Afro Drumming The djembe is a goblet shaped drum from West Africa. In this workshop, Nitin will explore West African sounds and rhythms. It will also give a perspective of how rhythms work at a very basic level. Nitin will focus on one traditional rhythm patterns, while sharing ideas of making myriad rhythms. If most participants are above beginner level, Nitin will pick up ideas of improvisation and ternary rhythms. 3.
