Weekend With the Fam: Head To This Unexplored Heaven In The Himalayas

    Surbhi posted on 12 July

    What Makes It Awesome

Where everything is as fresh as new, the outside window view is filled with trees and dew, Where you walk on flower trails instead of crowded streets, That is where my happy place is❤️ If you are travelling from Delhi, you can take the Volvo till AUT or any bus going towards Kullu. Book through HRTC website, get off just before the AUT tunnel and there is a road going right. You can find cabs {INR 800 to INR 1,000} or local buses {unknown frequency} to Jibhi. Some of the buses go up to Banjar and then you can take a cab till Jibhi which is just 8 km from there. Once you've reached, there are plenty of homestays you can book through Airbnb. I stayed at Lato The Hut, {don't confuse it with Latoda Hut} it's a riverside wooden cottage accommodation amidst the forest. Take a dip in the river or relax in the balcony. You will surely wake up to the most beautiful view in the morning. To book your stay, you can contact Mr Davinder Bahl at 98883 34809. There's an in-house kitchen at Lato that offers home-style food. You can even try Dolly's Hut for slightly better food options. Oh, and if you are staying here then Jibhi waterfall is just 15 minutes walking distance. You'll have to walk into the woods and cross multiple wooden bridges to reach the main waterfall. Plan a day to visit Jalori pass and Serolsar lake if you are up for trekking. A cab will charge INR 1,500 {approx.} for Jalori pass {to and fro}. From Jalori pass you can further trek for 2-2.5 hours to reach the picturesque Serolsar lake. Make sure you leave on time if you wish to return by the evening. Else there are dhabas at Serolsar lake which rent out tents for the stay {you can even pitch your own tent, if you have one}. You can also opt for trout fishing in the stream. There's no connectivity from Jalori pass till Serolsar lake. Make sure you carry warm clothes, the temperature might drop at night, and carry good walking shoes too. Oh, and Lato has a steep slope so I won't recommend it for older people if you do not have your own vehicle. Overall Jibhi is undoubtedly one of the most peaceful places I have ever been to. Head here for your next weekend trip and relax in the lap of nature.
